JUSTIN & HIS MAMA
IN THE WORLD TOGETHER
Justin was my only child. He was everyone’s best friend, the man people came to when they were in trouble, grieving, sad, or celebrating. Everyone who knew him knew how special our relationship was. He was not embarrassed about it, and he wrote me beautiful notes in my birthday cards with the true soul of a poet. For ten years of his life, it was just Justin and me in the world together. We talked at least once or twice a day for the rest of his life, and I cry a little every day that my baby is no longer physically with us.

To A MAMA’S TRIBUTE

Since music was such a significant part of my relationship with Justin, it is only natural that singing again is part of my grieving/healing process.
About Mama Karen’s Career
I started singing for family and friends at family gatherings as a child. At the age of 18, I was recruited by a talent agent to begin singing professionally. Over the course of the next 40 years, I sang at hotel lounges across the country. Among my engagements were the Sheraton Waikiki in Hawaii, hotel lounges in San Francisco, Dallas and for many years throughout the state of Florida. Justin was born on May 8,1980 during the course of a singing engagement at the Daytona Beach Hilton Hotel.
a SHARED PASSION FOR MUSIC
WE HAD A SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP
EVERYONE’S FRIEND
It’s been over three years since I lost Justin, my only child. I have struggled to figure out the best way to honor his memory. I believe this website will become the best way I can help keep his memory alive. I also believe he would be happy with what I have chosen to do, particularly the music I could record as a tribute to him, which will be part of this website. You can listen to the album we have created in Justin’s memory here:
